Frameless
Frameless shower enclosures are almost always the type of shower doors featured in home design shows and advertisements. These shower enclosures will add to the aesthetic appeal of any bathroom, creating a more open concept and space to show off your lovely tile within. Also referred to as Heavy Glass enclosures, frameless enclosures use 3/8″ or 1/2″ thick glass and use the minimal amount of metal compared to traditional shower doors. Typically, the hardware includes a pull handle that goes through the glass, along with hinges to match.
When the enclosure consists of more than just door, the glass panel(s) will then need support with either U-channel or panel clamps, and possibly a support header. The support needed is dependent upon the square feet of glass per panel. As much as possible, the goal of our designs will be with the minimal amount of hardware to keep the enclosure beautiful, with less cost. Of course, glass is fluid, so for safety we do add support when necessary.
